Vintage Indian hand-painted stacking balls thought to have been bought in the 1950s by the father of lady I bought these from. I just love the colours and different patterns, the largest of which has paintings of foliage and animals with the others being the forementioned patterns.
The largest is 10.5cm and the smallest 4.5cm.
As with anything of this age there is a small amount of damage to the 2nd largest ball with some of the paintwork chipped off in one area however all the others appear to be in very good condition
I have a little penchant for Rocking Horses - don’t ask me why, perhaps it is because I didn’t have one when I was a child, all I know is they fill me with joy and always bring a smile to my face. This one although it may look more ornamental is perfectly serviceable, as with everything I but it oodles history - let your imagination run wild and think who may have ridden him over the years. He still has his original leather seat and glass eyes.
Standing 107cm high from the floor, his seat is 84cm high with his base frame being 102.5 Ă— 44cm
Beautiful hand-painted papier-mache box with lift off lid to reveal 2 compartments for cards which are of interest themselves - as they came with the box I am leaving them in there but happy to remove if you wish. The photos speak for this lovely little card box - it is in very good used condition.
